Free Solo

The “Free Solo” series is an important passion project that aims to liberate as much of the process of making art as possible. I’ve defined it as abstract street art, post-neo-expressionism, and anarchy painting. The series utilizes a wide range of media, including drop cloths, scraps, repurposed paintings, clothing, cut-outs, and unwanted paint for an upcycled, industrial and street art ethos.

“Free Solo 1” 50x60 (2024), Mixed media on canvas.

“Free Solo 2” 30x50 (2024), Mixed media on canvas.

“Semi-Auto” 60x62 (2024), Mixed media on canvas and denim.

“Semi-Auto” is titled such, although it is the first entry in the “Free Solo” series because it incorporates a pair of jeans I have worn for fifteen years as well as bits of “The Astronomicon” a work I made at SAIC that has followed me for a long time.
